Zoning is the regulation of the use, location, height, number and size of land, buildings or structures within a specified zone or area of the community. Its purpose is to protect property values and preserve the desired character and stability of the community, while providing for orderly growth and uniform development. The Zoning Inspector is appointed by the Hocking Board of Trustees for the purpose of enforcing the provisions of the Zoning Resolution.

Rich Hogle is the Zoning Inspector for Hocking Township. Please contact him with any questions regarding the Hocking Township Zoning. Below you will find the Hocking Township zoning map and some of the required zoning forms that need completed for a permit. The zoning inspector shall be contacted first prior to any building or construction. The zoning inspector is required to make a site visit of the property. Please have the area staked out prior to for the zoning inspector to view.
